Natal Astrology is the interpretation of an individual’s personality and destiny based on the positions of the stars and the planets in the sky at the time of their birth.

The basic astrology chart is a circle, which represents the sky on the day you were born broken up into 12 sections, or 12 slices of a pie (or 30 degrees), that starts with Aries and ends with Pisces. Each one of these slices represents one of the 12 signs of the zodiac. What part of that wheel the sun is in on your birthday is your sun sign. It takes the sun approximately a month to travel through each sign of the zodiac. 

Many of us read our horoscope in the paper, but you’re a much more complicated mixture of all the planets – how they’re placed in the sky and how they’re related to each other. Your sun sign is the most important aspect of your chart, it’s who you are. Next is your rising sign or your ASC. You need your birth time and location to find out what your rising sign is, it’s the face that you show the world. It also sets the start point for the house system on your chart. After that are the inner planets, the Moon, Mercury, Venus and Mars; then the outer or generational planets, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, Uranus and Pluto. The inner planets have a more personal impact on you, where the outer planets, or the generational planets effect everyone born in your generation. What signs these planets fall in and how they aspect each other (or don’t ) determines your personality, it’s strengths and weaknesses.
